Colebrook Reconciliation Park

On the 3rd of April, in conjunction with City of Mitcham, a formal visit by the Governor of South Australia Her Excellency the Honourable Francis Adamson AC as a guest of the Mayor of Mitcham Dr Heather Holmes -Ross and elected councillors took place at the Colebrook Reconciliation Park.

Her Excellency accompanied by Mr Allan Edwards toured the park embracing the memorial and interpretive sites. Afterwards the Governor and guests joined together for a shared lunch acknowledging and recognising Aboriginal Community Members, particularly those with family connections to the Colebrook site.

Aboriginal Lands Trust members attended as guests, and the Trust’s Chief Executive Mr Klynton Wanganeen met with the Governor to discuss the role of the Trust in conjunction with the BRC in maintaining and improving the parks facilities.

The visit was highly impactful, the Trust members were appreciative to meet all those involved, especially the Governor herself.
